Twister

Russel Tarr is one of my Tech Heros! This man is amazing! He is constantly presenting us with new classtools that we can use with our students. The latest tool I tried was Twister! My students really had a great time, and they learned something!

Twister is a tool that allows our students to make fake twitter pages for historical characters. The form asks for a username, a real name, a tweet, and a date. When you click "submit" your information is magically presented into a twitter-like page complete with a great photo. It's just like magic!

I wish I could show you all of them! They were great! I had my students go and watch short videos on the biography web site to get their ideas flowing.

Robin's Bio

I entered the field of educational technology six years ago with the purchase of my first apple computer. Teaching in the music classroom I instantly became intrigued with Garage Band. This attraction led to the completion of a Master of Arts In Education/Curriculum and Instruction-Computer Education from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Science Education, Integrating Technology into the Classroom from the Walden University. I served as Technology Integration Specialist in the Edgewood City Schools for two years. This year, due to budget cuts, I am back in the classroom, teaching grade seven computer applications.

I have been honored to present at the 2009 Soita Educational Technology Conference in Dayton, Ohio and the 2009, 2010 eTech Ohio Educational Technology Conferences. I will also be speaking at the 2011 eTech Ohio Educational Technology Conferences.
